In 1909 Dr. J.E Harris built Arlington General Hospital to serve the residents of Arlington and the surrounding communities. In 1964 the community voted to tax themselves and form Public Hospital District #3, Snohomish County (PHD#3).  At that time, the district purchased Arlington General Hospital and renamed ii Cascade Valley Hospital. Over the years, the district added primary care and specialty clinics located in Arlington, Granite Falls and Darrington. In 1987 and 2010 the hospital under went major expansion and renovation projects resulting in the outstanding hospital that is standing today.
