In 1964 the community voted to tax themselves and create PHD#3.  Once established, the district purchased Arlington General Hospital and renamed it Cascade Valley Hospital.  Over the years, the district added primary care and specialty clinics located in Arlington, Granite Falls and Darrington. In 1987, and again in 2010 Cascade Valley Hospital underwent major expansions and renovation projects, which resulted in the outstanding hospital that exists today.
